Company History
Apex Pumps is celebrating its 30th year in 2018 still producing one of the broadest ranges of centrifugal pumps in the UK. The company started from modest beginnings in a small industrial unit in Yate near Bristol under the leadership of Nick Sole who has guided the company over the years, innovating new products and introducing new manufacturing techniques. Nick’s philosophy of offering quality products at internationally competitive prices, backed by highly responsive and efficient service is still at the heart of the company to this day. Apex Pumps has organically grown over the years moving from its original home in 1996 to our current site in Staple Hill Bristol, doubling the amount of production space available. In 2000 Apex expanded into an additional unit giving space for test facilities and extensive stock holdings, with a further 2 units acquired in the past 10 years giving our current facility of 20,000 sq/ft. Apex has developed new products and pump ranges, innovative solutions including belt drives and the use of pressed stainless steel. The TD range has been reconfigured into the TC close coupled range, a tank top TVL and a vortex solids application impeller variant. The ISF range conforming to ISO 2858 was introduced in 2005 with stable head and flow characteristics a robust and reliable bearing arrangement making it popular choice for some of the most demanding applications. The launch of the API 610 range in 2008 was Apex Pumps first fully UK manufactured product conforming to the 10th and now 11th editions of the standard. 2013 saw the opening of Apex’s Precision Alloys Replicast® foundry enabling the design and manufacture of high integrity, custom, bespoke designs to the customers exacting requirements.
